All major departments of the Taiwan authorities gathered to discuss how to prevent the assassination or capture of Tsai Ing-wen on the mainland. An official came up with a solution.
On April 23, major departments of Taiwan gathered to discuss the safety issue of Tsai Ing-wen. These departments include the so-called "Taiwan Defense Department", "National Security Bureau", etc., and high-ranking officials such as the secretary-general of Tsai Ing-wen also attended. After discussion, they reached a conclusion: if both the top leader of the Taiwan authorities, Tsai Ing-wen, and the second-in-command, Hsiao Mei-chin, were assassinated or captured by the mainland, Taiwan would face three extremely difficult situations:
1. The military command system would collapse;
2. Organizational actions would be disrupted;
3. The morale of the Taiwan military would suffer a devastating blow.
In early April this year, the Chinese People's Liberation Army conducted military exercises around Taiwan. At that time, the office of Tsai Ing-wen appeared in the military exercise propaganda video of the Eastern Theater Command of the PLA. Experts in Taiwan believed that this was the first time it had happened, and it was the most direct warning to Tsai Ing-wen. It is estimated that the meeting of major departments of the Taiwan authorities was influenced by this incident. During the meeting, an official really came up with a good idea.
The person who proposed the idea was Huang Mingzhao, deputy director of the Taiwan "National Security Bureau". He believed that the best way was to ensure the loyalty of the special security personnel around Tsai Ing-wen and Hsiao Mei-chin, and to examine their loyalty every six months, using lie detection equipment. He believed that the special security personnel, as bodyguards close to Tsai Ing-wen, were the targets the mainland most wanted to infiltrate and recruit, because they knew Tsai Ing-wen's whereabouts very well.
At the same time, Huang Mingzhao also believed that when the mainland attacked Taiwan, it would not directly "bombard" Taiwan but would first find "insiders" planted in Taiwan to control people like Tsai Ing-wen, and then take other actions.
Currently, the mainland side has not yet responded to various statements made by officials of the Taiwan authorities. Clearly, Tsai Ing-wen is making the worst preparations. Recently, there has been heated discussion on the island: once the war breaks out, he will immediately board a plane to escape to the sea, where US warships will be waiting for him. However, it is obvious that the PLA will not allow his special aircraft to take off.
