Media: China's EV exports increased by 87% in November
China's EV exports increased by 87% year-on-year in November, reaching 199,836 units.
According to partial data from Chinese customs reported by Bloomberg, China's EV exports to Mexico increased by 2,367% year-on-year in November, reaching 19,334 units, the highest growth rate among all countries and regions.
On a regional level:
Asia is the largest region for EV imports, with 110,061 units imported (a 71% increase year-on-year).
Europe followed closely (42,927 vehicles, a 63% increase year-on-year).
Next was Latin America and the Caribbean (35,182 vehicles, a 283% increase year-on-year).
China's EV exports to the EU increased by 39%, reaching 25,792 units.
According to the website Oilprice, domestic sales of electric vehicles in China have exceeded traditional fuel vehicles, and electric vehicles now account for more than 50% of monthly new car sales.
With tightening policies in Europe and a downturn in American automakers, competition has eased, and Chinese EV manufacturers are actively seeking to expand overseas markets to maintain a leading position in the global EV market.
Over the past two years, due to high tariffs imposed by the United States (100% tariffs on cars) and the European Union (tariffs ranging from 17% to 38%, depending on the manufacturer), China's export market has shrunk.
However, China holds a dominant position in major emerging markets, with surging sales in Southeast Asia's Indonesia, Singapore, and Vietnam, as well as a boom in electric vehicle sales in Uruguay, Mexico, and Brazil in Latin America.
According to a report released earlier this month by the Center for Clean Energy Research Ember, most of the growth in China's EV exports since mid-2023 has come from non-OECD markets.
Due to government policies promoting electric vehicles, Brazil, Mexico, and Indonesia have joined the list of China's top ten destinations for EV exports.
Ewan Graham, a global data and electrification analyst at Ember, said: "Emerging markets will shape the future of the global automotive market."
Global Electric Vehicles
Global pure electric vehicle sales in the third quarter of 2025 grew by 35% compared to the same period last year.
According to data from a global strategic consulting company, pure electric vehicles accounted for more than 21% of total car sales globally for the first time, equivalent to one out of every five cars being a pure electric vehicle.
According to the International Energy Agency, the number of electric vehicles on the road will reach about 40 million by 2023, and will jump to nearly 58 million by the end of 2024, more than three times the stock level recorded in 2021.
