2024 Global Trade Pattern: China Became the Largest Exporter, and the U.S. the Largest Importer

WTO points out in its report that China is the largest commodity exporter in 2024 and the United States is the largest importer.

The World Trade Organization pointed out in the released "World Trade Prospects and Statistics" report that in 2024, China is the world's largest commodity exporter, while the United States remains the largest importer.

The report stated: "In 2024, global commodity exports (calculated in US dollars) increased by 2%, reaching 24.43 trillion US dollars, including intra-EU trade. China is the largest exporter (export amount of 3.58 trillion US dollars), while the United States remains the largest importer (import amount of 3.36 trillion US dollars). The EU's export amount (2.8 trillion US dollars) and import amount (2.63 trillion US dollars) both rank second globally."

According to WTO statistics, in 2024, Russia's export amount ranks 20th globally at 417 billion US dollars, and its import amount ranks 26th globally at 295 billion US dollars.
