The Supreme Court on Tuesday ordered Vice President Sara Duterte to comment on a motion filed by the House of Representatives, which attempts to overturn the Supreme Court's July 25 ruling that declared the impeachment charges against Sara Duterte invalid.

The Supreme Court accepted the House of Representatives' appeal motion and required Vice President Sara Duterte and her lawyer Torreon to respond by August 15.

Spokesperson for the Vice Presidential Impeachment Case, Michael Wesley Boa, stated that Sara will comply with the Supreme Court's order within the specified time.

The House of Representatives' appeal motion was submitted through the Office of the Deputy Chief Prosecutor of the House, arguing that the Supreme Court made an error in interpreting Article III (5) XI of the 1987 Constitution, which prohibits multiple impeachments of the same official within a year.
