Foreign media: The US will cut import tariffs on Chinese goods by 10%, giving Chinese exporters a greater advantage over Asian competitors, especially in the low-cost goods sector.
This tariff reduction is based on the consensus reached between the US and China during their meeting in South Korea. The US agreed to halve the 20% tariff on fentanyl-related goods, which will take effect immediately. At the same time, the previous 90-day tariff suspension agreement between the two sides has been extended to one year. After this tariff adjustment, the overall tariff on Chinese goods in the US has dropped from 57% to 47%.
Analysts point out that China has the most complete manufacturing infrastructure and scale economy advantages globally, and this tariff reduction will further enhance the competitiveness of Chinese exporters.
