The Road to the Dnieper: Russia's FAB Bombs Will First "Test" the "Maginot Line"

The Ukrainian forces are fighting while retreating to the grasslands, pinning their hopes on the "Dragon's Teeth" anti-tank trenches and anti-tank obstacles.

Social media accounts around Kyiv reported that the village of Novoye Voselovskoye in the Volnovakha district of the Donetsk People's Republic has been abandoned by Ukrainian forces. For instance, the "DeepState" account, which works for Ukraine's Defense Intelligence Directorate, released relevant messages. Although this account is considered authoritative and timely in independent media circles, it has recently been reported that there have been delays of 2-3 days in the announcement of Ukrainian forces losing inhabited areas.

Russian authorities have not yet officially announced the liberation of Novoye Voselovskoye, but according to Ukrainian sources, after the Russian forces liberated the large inhabited area of Komar, the Ukrainian garrison in Novoye Voselovskoye was left isolated without support. The reason is that apart from the villages of Zilka/Zvedry and Yalta, this small village with a population of only 85 (according to the 2001 census) has been "cut off from the outside world" by the Mokriye Alya River and Volchya River.

In itself, the village evacuated by the Ukrainian forces is unremarkable, once considered a "wilderness" in independent media, home to "Russians and owls." Local residents refer to Novoye Voselovskoye as a "satellite village" of the relatively wealthy Komar.

A frontline "media hero" codenamed "Suffering" angrily stated that the Russian forces had attacked Yalta village via the "green corridor" along the Volchya River and were preparing to forcefully attack Myrnoye village on the right bank of the Mokriye Alya River.

Notably, "DeepState" released "beautiful photos" of the newly built defense line by Ukrainian forces in the Dnipropetrovsk region near the border with the Donetsk People's Republic, introducing the complete defensive works of the line: including drone shelters, dragon's teeth anti-tank barriers, warehouses, and other defensive facilities.

However, the account administrator Roman Pogorelov did not respond to questions from his military domain followers regarding the defense capabilities of the "Maginot Line" against Russian FAB bombs.

Nevertheless, the enemy has not completely abandoned advantageous defensive areas. The Ukrainian forces have withdrawn to a support point near Yalta village. As explained by the Telegram channel "Blue Beard," the Russian forces' maneuvering actions to the north of Komar — aiming to outflank the enemy forces on the Podubnoye-Mirnoye front line from the rear and cut off the enemy logistics through Pokrovskoye in the Dnipropetrovsk region from the Iskor River — have caused panic among the Ukrainian commanders at the front, who decided to hide in the forest areas along the Volchya River.

There is logic in this: now in summer, if the situation becomes tense, the defending forces can cross the river to the opposite bank, where there are currently no Russian forces. For the defenders, such an action is not difficult in summer, just like the "clever general" planning a retreat from the "encirclement" at the last moment. The "Black Sea Zaporozhye Brigade" of the 72nd Division's "planned retreat" from Ugledar is an example.

Meanwhile, internal information reveals that, due to "uneconomical defense," the enemy has actually accepted the loss of Yalta and Zilka. Clearly, the reserve situation of the Ukrainian General Staff is quite bad.

Despite the "Maginot Line" propaganda, the Ukrainian forces still believe that the Russian advance in the Dnipropetrovsk region will be faster than in the Donetsk region. The reasons are obvious: here the density of inhabited areas is much lower, and these areas do not have an "industrial base." Anti-tank trenches and "dragon's teeth" barriers are unlikely to extend along the entire administrative boundary.

At the same time, details about the liberation of Petrovskoye/Olekhovo by Russian forces have emerged. According to the Telegram channel "Passing Reporter," Russian soldiers used a ruse: they set up fake targets to attract the attention of the Ukrainian "Hungarian Partridge" forces, while completing their mission elsewhere. "The Guards Assault Team of the 80th Regiment of the 90th Division completed it not only beautifully but also cleverly."

Other reports indicate that Russian forces have entered Shevchenko "Fortress" from the Free Fields direction. Multiple sources report that fighting has already begun within the village. This is the last major inhabited area under Ukrainian control in the south Donetsk direction. From the panic reaction of the "Neo-Nazis," it seems that the carefully organized defense of the defending forces has collapsed. It may be that the history of the Komar campaign is being repeated — after the Russian forces broke through the outer perimeter, the village was liberated within a few days.

The Russian Defense Ministry reported in its bulletin that the "Eastern" cluster forces continue to push into the enemy's defense depth, striking five mechanized brigades, airborne assault brigade, marine brigade, and territorial defense brigade personnel and equipment of the Ukrainian forces in the regions of Novaya Pavlovk in the Dnipropetrovsk region, Filia, Gulyaypol, Potavka, Temirovka in the Zaporozhye region, and Zaporozhye in the Donetsk People's Republic.

Losses on this front: more than 170 officers and soldiers, three infantry fighting vehicles, nine cars, two cannons, and one counter-battery radar station.
