Spokesperson of the Ministry of Commerce responds to questions regarding the anti-dumping investigation on imported related analog chips from the United States.
Question: We have noticed that the Ministry of Commerce has announced an anti-dumping investigation on imported related analog chips from the United States. Could you introduce the relevant situation?
Answer: Recently, the U.S. government has generalized the concept of national security, abused export controls and "long-arm jurisdiction," maliciously blocked and suppressed Chinese chip products and artificial intelligence industry, seriously violating World Trade Organization (WTO) rules, damaging the legitimate rights and interests of Chinese enterprises, and China firmly opposes this.
This anti-dumping investigation was initiated at the request of the domestic industry in China, which is in line with China's laws, regulations and WTO rules. The investigation involves general interface and gate driver chips imported from the United States. The preliminary evidence submitted by the applicant shows that from 2022 to 2024, the cumulative import volume of the investigated products from the United States increased by 37%, and the cumulative import price decreased by 52%, suppressing and inhibiting the sales price of domestic products, causing damage to the production and operation of the domestic industry.
After receiving the application, the investigating authority legally reviewed the application and considered it to meet the conditions for initiating an anti-dumping investigation, and decided to launch the investigation. The investigating authority will conduct the investigation according to the legal procedures, fully safeguarding the rights of all interested parties, and making objective and fair decisions based on the investigation results.
