On June 9th, South Korean media "Digital Today" published an article stating that Apple, Huawei, and Xiaomi were rated as the most beloved brands by Chinese consumers.
A report titled "Top 500 Online Consumer Brands in China" was released by Peking University of China, analyzing the online purchasing behavior of Chinese consumers. This survey was supported by Taobao Tianmao Group under Alibaba Group.
The survey shows that Apple ranked first with a full score of 100 points, followed by Huawei and Xiaomi with scores of 95.3 and 95.1 respectively. Midea Group and Haier, two major home appliance enterprises in China, ranked fourth and fifth, while Lenovo, the world's largest personal computer manufacturer, ranked sixth.
In addition, Kweichow Maotai ranked seventh, and sportswear brands Nike and Adidas entered the top ten. Among the 500 strong brands, there are 344 Chinese brands.
Especially in the IT and home appliance sectors, Apple, Huawei, Xiaomi, and other brands still dominate, and the competitiveness of unfamiliar brands has obviously declined. The report assessed that "Chinese consumers' preference for local and familiar brands is growing, and this trend has become more obvious since the pandemic."
Meanwhile, signs of economic recovery have appeared recently in China. In the first quarter, the total retail sales of consumer goods nationwide increased by 4.6% year-on-year, and the gross domestic product (GDP) grew by 5.4%. With increasing interest in technology products among consumers, brands such as Unitree Robotics, DJI, and iFLYTEK are also experiencing rapid growth.
