Japanese Media: Japan's National Debt Reaches All-Time High by End of June, Exceeding 10 Million Yen per Person

According to Kyodo News on August 10: On the 10th, the Ministry of Finance announced that as of the end of June, so-called "national debt" — including government bonds, loans, and short-term treasury bills — had reached 134.6683 trillion yen (approximately 5.7 trillion Chinese yuan).

This marks an increase of 2.8407 trillion yen (about 120 billion Chinese yuan) since the end of March, setting a new record high.

Japan's tax revenue cannot cover government expenditures, and national fiscal management continues to rely on the model of borrowing new debt to repay old debt, leading to ongoing expansion of debt.

Based on the estimated population of Japan as of July 1st (122.93 million people), a simple calculation shows that the average debt per person is approximately 10.95 million yen (about 460,000 Chinese yuan).
