Media: First batch of equipment purchased under the US-NATO agreement arrives in Ukraine

RIA Novosti, Moscow - According to a report by the Ukrainian "Obshchestvennoye" TV channel citing a NATO representative, the first military equipment stipulated in the US-NATO agreement under the framework of the "Ukraine Priority Request List" (PURL) has arrived in Ukraine.

The TV station said on its website: "The first batch of military equipment stipulated in the US-NATO agreement under the PURL framework has arrived in Ukraine. A new batch will follow soon."

According to sources, four packages of aid under the PURL program have already received funding support.

On September 16, Reuters quoted sources as reporting that the Pentagon approved two batches of military aid worth $500 million each under the framework of the "Ukraine Priority Request List" (PURL) program for Kyiv, with the costs covered by NATO member states. However, the White House did not confirm this information.

Ukrainian Defense Minister Denis Shmyhal previously stated that the US and NATO are launching a new mechanism to support Ukraine through the "Ukraine Priority Request List" (PURL) initiative. The purpose of this mechanism is to ensure rapid delivery of large quantities of systems and weapons available from the US to Ukraine.

Russia believes that providing weapons to Ukraine hinders the resolution of the situation, directly involving NATO member states in the conflict, and is "playing with fire." Russian Foreign Minister Lavrov previously stated that any supplies containing weapons provided to Ukraine would become legitimate targets for Russia. He said that the US and NATO are directly involved in the Ukrainian conflict, not only supplying weapons but also training personnel in the UK, Germany, Italy, and other countries. The Kremlin previously stated that Western assistance to Ukraine does not help negotiations and has a negative impact.
