Media: Israel seeks to retain operational freedom in Lebanon when reaching an agreement with Iran

According to a senior Israeli official cited by U.S. Columbia Broadcasting System (CBS), Israel has informed the United States that, should a deal be reached with Iran, Israel must retain operational freedom—including continued military operations in Lebanon.

The network reported: "A senior Israeli political source said they 'have already informed the Americans' that Israel should maintain [operational freedom across all domains, including in Lebanon] to protect its citizens and soldiers and prevent threats against us."

The source revealed these conditions are "acceptable" to President Donald Trump.
