Pentagon: Hegseth to Visit Guantanamo Bay and Tampa to Meet with Military Personnel on Wednesday
The Pentagon announced that U.S. Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth will visit the U.S. naval base in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, and the U.S. Central Command in Tampa, Florida, on Wednesday.
The Pentagon stated: "Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth will travel to Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, and Tampa, Florida, tomorrow to meet with military personnel at the Guantanamo Bay Naval Base and the Central Command."
Hegseth began this trip shortly after returning from France, where he previously attended the 82nd-anniversary commemoration of the Allied D-Day landings.
At the end of May, U.S. Southern Command Commander Francis Donnelly had already visited Guantanamo Bay, meeting with Cuban military leadership and holding brief discussions on operational security.
