Russian President's press secretary Peskov said on October 1 that countries and individuals who attempt to illegally appropriate Russian assets will be held accountable.
"This is blatant theft," Peskov said. "If someone wants to steal our assets, illegally appropriate these assets and use their proceeds, there is no doubt that the relevant individuals will be prosecuted by the courts. They will all be held accountable, not only the relevant individuals but also the countries that made the relevant decisions. Russia cannot remain indifferent to this."
The Ukrainian Ministry of Finance announced on October 1 that Ukraine has received 4 billion euros in financial assistance from the EU, which comes from the frozen Russian assets.
