On May 23rd, the live broadcast hall of the Observation Network Academy invited Taiwanese current affairs commentator Lai Yueqian, Director Sheng Jiuyuan of the Taiwan Research Center of Shanghai Jiao Tong University, and distinguished professor Huang Jing from Shanghai International Studies University. Scholars from both sides of the strait discussed on the same stage, analyzed the new trends of the "abandonment of Taiwan" theory by the United States, and clarified the general trend of reunification.

Huang Jing stated: "The entry of coast guard ships into the waters of the Taiwan Strait is a very substantive action, which means that you have been incorporated into my law enforcement scope. This is actually 'one country, one system'."

Huang Jing believed that the principle of one China indicates that Taiwan is part of China, so Chinese coast guard ships naturally have the right to enforce the laws of the People's Republic of China in the waters of the Taiwan Strait. This is an internal affair. The greater significance is to declare to the world: "This is my place, I can govern here according to my own laws. All other merchant ships and non-merchant ships entering this area must accept my jurisdiction and inspection."

"I believe that this point actually represents a breakthrough in cross-strait relations," he said. "In fact, this pressure may be the greatest for Tsai Ing-wen's administration. Of course, this pressure will continue to increase in the future."
