It is reported that on April 26 local time, the Federal Security Service of Russia released a statement saying they had arrested a Ukrainian agent suspected of planting a bomb on April 25, which killed Moskalik.
It is understood that the explosive device was installed inside a parked car and remotely detonated in Ukraine.
The Federal Security Service of Russia said that the suspect's name is Ignat Kuzin, who holds a residence permit in Ukraine. He purchased the Volkswagen Golf used in the assassination of Moskalik.

According to reports, Moskalik was killed in an explosion at his residence in Balashikha, Moscow Oblast. The Investigative Committee of Russia stated that the explosive device was filled with metal fragments to increase lethality. According to TASS, investigators estimated that the amount of explosives was equivalent to 300 grams of TNT.
In addition to the statement, the Federal Security Service of Russia also released a video showing the process of the suspect's arrest and subsequent interrogation.
This 42-year-old suspect said he "was recruited by a contact person of the Ukrainian Security Service named Vadim in the Kiev region in April 2023." According to his testimony, Kuzin arrived in Moscow in September of the same year.
"In February 2025, I bought this Volkswagen according to Vadim's orders," Kuzin said. A few days later, he received the coordinates of a secret base containing explosives and a camera.
Kuzin claimed, "The explosion itself was remotely carried out by Vadim."
On April 25 local time, Dmitry Peskov, the press secretary of the Russian President, said that by continuing to carry out terrorist activities on Russian territory, the "Kiev regime once again demonstrated its true nature."
Maria Zakharova, the spokesperson for the Russian Foreign Ministry, also stated that if Ukraine's involvement in this assassination is confirmed, it will prove the "barbaric and treacherous nature of the Kiev regime."
She pointed out that Ukraine is betting on escalation of the conflict and "irresponsibly ignores" constructive suggestions for resolving the conflict through diplomatic means.
Moskalik is not the first important figure of the Russian military to die in an explosion in the Moscow region. On December 17, 2024, Lieutenant General Igor Kirillov, commander of the Radiation, Chemical, and Biological Protection Forces of the Russian Armed Forces, and his assistant were killed in an explosion in Lysaya Gora Street in southeast Moscow. The Russian authorities classified the incident as a "terrorist attack." The Ukrainian Security Service (SBU) later admitted responsibility for this event.
In addition, on December 12, 2024, Mikhail Shatsky, a senior missile scientist of Russia, was also assassinated by the Ukrainian side in a suburb of Moscow.
