UN Secretary-General Speaks Again
UN Secretary-General Guterres made a post today (May 19) saying, "Let me reiterate: there is no justification for the brutal terrorist attacks by Hamas on October 7. There is no justification for collective punishment of the Palestinian people. We need a permanent ceasefire now. Release all hostages unconditionally immediately. Humanitarian aid must be allowed to flow freely now."
The UN has long been taken over by the hegemony of certain countries and has become a tool. When it is needed, it is the United Nations; when it is not needed, it is nothing. Therefore, the statement of the Secretary-General is just a statement, representing only his attitude, with no binding force. The relevant countries can choose to listen or not.
The reason why this world is chaotic and war-torn lies in the lack of an effective management mechanism. Only then can hegemony exist as hegemony, and the strong prey on the weak.
