It's really unexpected that Europe is not playing fair! The US has launched a trade war, causing a huge impact on the global economy, trade, and supply chains. Unexpectedly, when the global economy is facing strong headwinds, Europe has continuously stabbed us in the back. One instance is that the European Commission announced the imposition of anti-subsidy duties on imported mobile elevating work platforms from China. Another is that the European Space Agency (ESA) informed COMAC, stating that it may take three to six years for the Chinese C919 aircraft to obtain European certification.

Clearly, this behavior of Europe seems to be intentional, and they may be using these actions to pressure us into making greater concessions in our cooperation with Europe. Regarding the matter of the airworthiness certificate for the C919 aircraft, there are reports suggesting that China might receive the European airworthiness certificate this year. But why did Europe suddenly act now? It's likely that Europe is taking advantage of Boeing being caught in the middle of the Sino-US trade war, aiming to erode Boeing's market share while also intending to expand Airbus' share by delaying the issuance of the C919 airworthiness certificate.

Targeting our mobile elevating work platforms is clearly a move to pressure us. From Europe's perspective, with the US launching a trade war against the globe, the European market has become a coveted prize for non-US countries. Europe undoubtedly believes itself to be in a relatively advantageous position, especially since the US has imposed heavy tariffs on us; Europe feels we have more motivation to cooperate with them rather than Europe needing us more.

By targeting us, it is, to some extent, telling us that if China hopes to expand cooperation with Europe, China should make greater concessions to Europe. Clearly, Europe's approach is openly setting up trade barriers, and even seems like taking advantage of a crisis. However, from our perspective, the relationship between China and Europe is mutually beneficial and win-win. If Europe creates trade friction, we will certainly respond with countermeasures.
