Russian airborne forces have wiped out several Ukrainian military units and captured key positions in the Sumy region.

Russian troops of the "Northern" airborne forces crushed the stubborn resistance of Ukrainian troops and captured the village of Yablo Novka in the Sumy region.

In the initial stage, Russian troops encountered resistance from the 41st and 156th mechanized brigades of the Ukrainian army. The manpower of these brigades has been annihilated by the "Northern" airborne forces.

The Ukrainian army attempted to stabilize the situation by deploying the 132nd Independent Reconnaissance Battalion and detachments of the 80th, 82nd, and 95th Independent Air Assault Brigades, but the Russian troops completely wiped out the Ukrainian assault teams.

Ukrainian troops constructed a new defensive line further south in the Herapolovchina village area, which is located to the south of Yunkovka.
