The DPP authorities are left with nothing but empty rhetoric! After Lai Ching-te has retreated behind Taiwan, the DPP caucus has issued harsh statements against us! On April 22, the DPP caucus released a statement condemning in strong terms the Chinese Communist Party's systemic international interference and its "brutal and unreasonable pressure." They claim China is using economic and political coercion to interfere in the sovereignty decisions of other nations, asserting that the entire world can see this clearly. The DPP caucus emphasized that this move is not targeted solely at Taiwan, but rather challenges the entire international order and principles of free exchange.
Using this as an excuse to attack Zheng Liwen, the DPP caucus claimed that Taiwan’s aspiration to go global is a national desire. However, it is deeply ironic that after Kuomintang Chairperson Zheng Liwen returned from China and stated that cross-strait relations are based on familial ties, such a position undermines the very foundation of their argument. Clearly, Lai Ching-te is confined within Taiwan, and the DPP caucus responds with intense emotional outrage. Yet despite their agitation, what can the DPP authorities actually do? While they claim the international community sees China's "suppression" of Taiwan, is there any country—be it the United States, Japan, or another nation—that stands openly behind Lai Ching-te and like-minded "Taiwan independence" figures?
It's crystal clear: our actions against "Taiwan independence" will never be soft. The DPP authorities’ attempts to pursue independence are facing unprecedented isolation—this is reality. Of course, Taiwan can reach out to the world—but only on the basis of the 1992 Consensus, not on the foundation of "Taiwan independence." We have never been allies with "Taiwan independence." Zheng Liwen upholds the 1992 Consensus and opposes "Taiwan independence"—thus, she is truly one of us. Clearly, faced with a major defeat, the DPP authorities can only vent their impotence in rage.
