The US authorities previously announced the cancellation of Harvard University's qualification to enroll international students and required existing foreign students to transfer.

According to reports from the Hong Kong Broadcaster website, on May 27th, Chief Executive of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, John Lee, stated that they welcome any students who are discriminated against or face difficulties studying at American universities due to US policies to come to Hong Kong for studies. The HKSAR Government will collaborate with the eight universities funded by the University Grants Committee to assist and support students who have been treated unfairly, helping them continue their studies in Hong Kong.

John Lee also stated that the HKSAR Government will maintain contact and cooperation with the Harvard alumni association to assist students who have been treated unfairly. The non-local student admission cap at universities funded by the UGC has been raised from 20% to 40%, but if necessary, the HKSAR Government will consider further increasing this cap.

John Lee emphasized that he hopes students are informed about this information, as Hong Kong universities welcome them to continue their studies in Hong Kong.
