Syrian security forces have evacuated the Bedouin families from Suwayda!

Syrian security forces have started to implement the second phase of the ceasefire agreement, evacuating the Bedouin residents who were taken hostage by the Druze community self-defense units, with the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees participating in this operation.

The Syrian interim government used buses to enter the city of Suwayda, receiving the Bedouin families who had been arrested and held as hostages by the Druze since July 13. On July 21, a total of 1,500 Bedouins were evacuated from Suwayda, and they were taken to the neighboring Daraa province through the border crossing at Busra al-Harir town.

Sheikh Mada Al-Hamad Al-Assad, chairman of the Syrian tribal committee, stated that the displacement of the Bedouin residents is temporary, and the houses where the evacuated citizen families lived have been destroyed and looted.
