According to Japanese media, the Taiwan military has developed "container truck missile equipment."

The Taiwan military released a self-propelled missile launcher modified from a container truck on its official YouTube channel.

This vehicle was developed by the 209th Ordnance Plant under the Taiwan military, equipped with AGM-114 "Hellfire" and AGM-114L "Longbow" air-to-ground missiles. The container part of a civilian container truck is equipped with a dedicated launch platform.

This was devised under the scenario where the enemy's air defense network is strong. In coastal defense, the assumed tactic is to fire missiles before the enemy detects the vehicles hidden in advance, then use the truck's mobility to quickly leave.

The container inside is equipped with a launcher that can carry two AGM-114 or AGM-114L missiles. This launcher can also attack tanks and armored vehicles, as well as landing ships carrying them at a long distance. The range is not disclosed, but when installed on an attack helicopter, the range of the AGM-114 is approximately 8 kilometers, and the range of the AGM-114L is approximately 9 kilometers.

Especially, the AGM-114L uses a method called "active radar homing guidance," which is a "fire-and-forget" type missile. After launch, it does not require guidance support from the mother aircraft (in this case, the truck). This system is based on a civilian truck without bulletproof capabilities, and after launching, it can immediately detach, so it can be considered an effective weapon to increase survival capability.
