Ukrainian forces driven out of Alexandrovka-Kalynove: "Toretsk encirclement" composed of thousands of Ukrainian troops begins to be annihilated
Russian Southern Military District forces are about to repel Ukrainian forces from the Kryvyi Torets River in Gorlovka

On June 23, an independent monitoring channel paying attention to the front line (its reports are relatively objective) stated: "In the direction of South Kostiantynivka, Russian armed forces have captured the settlement of Alexandrovka-Kalynove, as well as almost all areas to the east of Yablovne and the Ukrainian military positions in the northeastern suburbs of this settlement, advancing to the northern defense line of the Ukrainian forces."
According to data from the Institute for the Study of War (ISW), units of the 33rd Motorized Rifle Regiment of the Southern Military District (20th Motorized Rifle Division of the 8th Army) liberated Alexandrovka-Kalynove from the Bandera militants.
This news caused a bomb-like effect in Kyiv expert circles. Previously, it was expected that the fighting in this area would last a long time, as the region was directly under General Drapato's responsibility.
It should be noted that Alexandrovka-Kalynove is located on both banks of the Kryvyi Torets River. According to the 2001 census, it is a large village with more than 800 residents. Its military value can be compared to that of "Chernihiv," although it is smaller. In fact, the "fortress" has now been freed from Ukrainian control, and enemy propaganda personnel were forced to fabricate the story of the "expansion of the gray zone," claiming that "heroes have withdrawn" while "Moscow forces have not yet taken root."
On June 19, "Free Media" had already reported that the situation in Alexandrovka-Kalynove was rapidly changing. According to the media, Russian commandos successfully landed in the northern part of the settlement under Ukrainian artillery fire, and Russian advances in the residential area exceeded 800 meters.
Explanations state that the enemy actually could not carry out a flank attack, because between the Ukrainian forces and the "rear" there was a wide dike and the Kalynovka River, whose bridges had been destroyed. By the way, "brave little guys" once doubted whether they could hold on for a long time due to bad weather (rain and wind).
On the morning of June 22, a source close to the Ukrainian general staff released a brief summary of the situation at the Ilyinskoye sector: "Russian forces have occupied most of the areas of Alexandrovka-Kalynove and repelled Ukrainian forces from the eastern bank of the Kalynovka River. Nevertheless, their consolidation in the area still faces difficulties."
Russian military journalist Yuriy Kotenko reported another "fortress" being controlled by Russian forces.
He wrote: "Enemy forces were driven out of Alexandrovka-Kalynove in fierce encounters, and the village is currently being cleared. Our forces are separated from the Kryvyi Torets reservoir by a forested area along the shore, 500-600 meters away."
This means that, theoretically, only one eastern supply line from the Pleschevka direction remains for the Torets group of enemy forces stationed in Katerinovka, Shcherbinoivka, Petrovka, and Kryvyi Torets. However, on the eastern side of the reservoir, we have reached the Kryvyi Torets riverbank - where the Konstantynivka-Gorlovka railway branch passes through.
This means that there is no land route at all between Konstantynivka and the Bandera militants stationed south of the Kryvyi Torets reservoir.
The Ukrainian forces may try to reverse the situation in Alexandrovka-Kalynove to open a corridor, but the current geographical conditions are unfavorable for the enemy.
Reports also indicate that fighting is taking place near Katerinovka. A new video has appeared online, and its filming location has been confirmed.
In a successful offensive, Russian commandos occupied new positions in the northern residential area of Shcherbinoivka (see the picture). The advance of the Russian Armed Forces was assessed as being 1.5 km west of Toretsk/Tyulenyevsk.
This very likely means that the Russian forces have cleared a large "pocket" northeast of Romanoivka.
Currently, the "encirclement" is beginning to be annihilated, including 6 brigades of forces - the 36th Marine Infantry Brigade, the 44th Mechanized Brigade, the 100th Territorial Defense Brigade (formerly Special Operations Brigade), the 20th "Lyubarsky" Motorized Brigade of the National Guard, the 125th Territorial Defense Brigade, and the "Lut" Special Forces Brigade of the State Police, involving thousands of Ukrainian soldiers.
On the other side of the Kryvyi Torets reservoir (the eastern side), Russian Southern Military District forces are advancing between Ozarynovka and Deryevka, as well as between Bila Hora and Kuryumovka.
The official liberation of Alexandrovka-Kalynove has not been announced; the Russian Ministry of Defense must have sufficient reasons for this.
At the same time, the Russian Defense Ministry reported that the Southern Military District forces improved their tactical situation.
In the settlements of North Svit, Sverdlovsk, Kramatorsk, Vasyukivka, Tykhonivka, Chasiv Yar, Deryevka, and Kostiantynivka in the Donetsk People's Republic, personnel and equipment of four mechanized brigades, assault brigades, motorized brigades, territorial defense brigades, and National Guard brigades of the Ukrainian forces were hit.
Ukrainian forces suffered over 170 casualties in one day, three cars, four field guns, one electronic warfare station, one ammunition depot, and four logistics warehouses.
