The global tariff policy announced by the Trump administration on April 2nd has been halted by a court in the United States, and the Trump administration has appealed!

On May 28th, the U.S. Court of International Trade ruled that the tariff war launched by Trump against the globe on April 2nd, based on the International Emergency Economic Powers Act, was invalid due to lack of legal basis and overreach.

According to the U.S. Constitution, the power to impose tariffs on foreign countries belongs to Congress. Therefore, the Trump administration has no right to handle tariff issues unilaterally.

This case was filed as a lawsuit by five to six small American businesses affected by the tariff war, represented by an institution of the Center for Judicial Accountability to file the lawsuit to the court.
