China's multiple research ships are conducting deep-sea exploration and testing in the waters around Huangyan Island!
According to the Philippine Coast Guard, our three research ships, Beidiao 996, Xiangyanghong 10, and Zhuhaiyun, are currently conducting marine scientific research in the South China Sea today.
"Beidiao 996" left Guangdong on June 16 and is now located 185 nautical miles west of Sanlengli, reportedly conducting underwater acoustic and sonar tests 40 nautical miles from Huangyan Island.
"Beidiao 996" is known as China's largest deep-sea technology test platform and also the world's largest small waterplane area twin hull ship, designed to ensure stability in adverse weather conditions.
"Xiangyanghong 10" and "Zhuhaiyun" left China on June 23 and entered the waters near the Bangsamoro province of the Philippines two days later. They are currently located about 195 nautical miles from Rizal, Palawan Island. Satellite data shows that the research ships are active near China's Niuzhai Reef.
Xiangyanghong 10 is an oceanographic research ship capable of launching autonomous underwater vehicles and conducting deep-sea environmental research. It is equipped with a dynamic positioning system and limited icebreaking capability.
Zhuhaiyun is the world's first autonomous drone carrier. Its functions are not only for scientific surveys but also include mapping submarine routes and deploying smart mines.
