Foreign media: On July 11, China's National Energy Administration released a statement via WeChat, stating that the national power load reached 1.518 billion kilowatts on July 10, setting a new record high for the year—surpassing the previous peak of 1.508 billion kilowatts recorded on July 17, 2025.
Since early July, the load has increased by over 150 million kilowatts, an increment roughly equivalent to Japan's entire national power load capacity.
This surge in demand is primarily driven by rising needs from data centers and electric vehicles. Regulatory authorities are guiding local governments based on specific plans from each province to ensure stable power supply under both routine and emergency conditions.
