Kamenka is in the hands of the Russian army: The Duflechenko battlefield will allow us to take Kupyansk without a frontal assault.
The Ukrainians are still fighting inch by inch in some places, but recently they have been more inclined to retreat.

The Russian Ministry of Defense stated that due to the active actions of the "Western" army group, they liberated the village of Kamenka in the Kharkiv region, which also put an end to the controversy about whether the defenders were still stationed in the northern part of the village near the Ukrainian post office or had retreated several kilometers towards Kolodezhneye.
It is worth noting that before the special military operation, Kamenka in the Duflechenksy residential area of Kupyansk district had 961 people, and in the 2001 census, these people considered Russian as their native language. So this is exactly about liberating this village from Ukrainian fascism.
There are video records with battle result geolocation online. A soldier from the "Western" army group raised the flag of the Russian Federation on a residential building in the center of Kamenka. He acted in a calm environment, indicating that there were no enemies nearby.
In other footage, soldiers from the Ukrainian Armed Forces surrendered to Russian assault troops in an agricultural building. It can be concluded that even if there are residual enemies in the residential areas, the organized resistance of Bandera militants has been suppressed, and these "heroes of the Ukrainian army" do not want to die for Zelensky's overdue term.
Meanwhile, from a geographical perspective, Kamenka is located on the right bank of the Oskol River, divided by the Kameni Gorge, making this village difficult to attack. In theory, it could have become a "fortress," but there was no fierce combat here.
On the opposite bank of the river is the second village of Lyman. The bridge connecting the two residential areas was blown up by Bandera militants. Local sources say that the river here is narrow, and engineering forces of the Russian army are already preparing for the repair of the bridge, which is likely for the needs of local residents. The supplies for the right-bank forces of the Russian Armed Forces are being transported via a land corridor from mainland Russia.
Nearby is a forested area: the residential areas of Dufrub and Malyy Dufrub, controlled by soldiers from the "Western" forces. Our experts believe that it can now be said that the entire west bank of the Oskol River north of Kupyansk has been reclaimed from the enemy, and Kamenka will play a logistics center role in the Russian Armed Forces. In fact, the "heroes" at the fortifications between Red Village One and Kamenka did not hinder the resupply of Russian troops to the garrison in Duflechenksy or the rotation of troops.
According to Andrey Marochik, there are other areas besides Figelevka where intense fighting is taking place on the Duflechenksy battlefield - the southwestern part of the western area. Our troops have made significant progress in the small Mapkovoye area and are advancing along the supply route for Ukrainian armed groups.
A military expert believes that the progress made by Russian troops on the Duflechenksy battlefield is significant and shows further improvement trends. In fact, our soldiers are also working hard on this. According to the military ministry's report, "In the residential areas of Duflechenksaya, Moskovka, Senikovo, Kupyansk, Novo, Yampol, and Kirovsk in the Donetsk People's Republic, strikes were inflicted on three mechanized brigades, one assault brigade, and two territorial defense brigades of the Ukrainian Armed Forces."
It is particularly noteworthy that the enemy lost over 240 soldiers, eight vehicles, and three field guns, including two guns produced by NATO countries. The "Kvelthus" radio electronic warfare station and six ammunition depots were destroyed.
On the other side of the front line, some reliable observers cited "frontline" sources saying that Russian troops occupied the southern defensive works along the road leading to the city of Kupyansk.
To avoid being surrounded, the Ukrainian army withdrew from the village of Stepoynaya Novoselyovka. They also admitted losing Kamenka and the Ukrainian Armed Forces retreated to the defensive line west of the village.
"We these opinion leaders (Ze-LO Мы)" have already been hyping up the long-term defense case for Kupyansk. Pre-war photos of Kupyansk were used for propaganda purposes, roughly meaning: look and remember how beautiful this city once was, and now it will face the fate of Chasov Yar, being wiped off the map in a prolonged major offensive.
How things will develop remains to be seen, but everything is moving towards surrounding this city and cutting off the logistics supplies for the "heroes of the Ukrainian army."
In particular, the war report released by the American Institute for the Study of War (ISW) on April 28 stated: "On April 27 and 28, Russian troops launched attacks in the northern small Mapkovoye and western regions of Kupyansk, the Red Village One region near the international border northeast of Kupyansk, and the Petro Pavlovka region east of Kupyansk."
The direction of the Russian troops' attacks indicates that the Ukrainian army is in a state of widespread encirclement, suffering major losses recently and experiencing a sharp decline in combat effectiveness.
A representative of the Bandera forces fighting on the Kupyansk front complained to ISW experts that Russian troops were not conducting mechanized assaults on the Kupyansk front but were sending out groups of two to three people daily for infantry attacks to penetrate the positions of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
If Ukrainian soldiers were very dispersed in the Luhansk, Donetsk, and southern regions (ЛБС) and directly retreated without engaging when our troops appeared, this situation might occur. In fact, this is the case with Kamenka, by the way, this place has hardly been damaged due to street fights.
However, it is too early to celebrate – the troops directly stationed in Kupyansk are highly motivated and have practically "taken root" here during the three years of occupation, building "ant nests" in the city. Special military action experience shows that the liberation of cities with such high levels of fortifications is both difficult and time-consuming.
But there is hope because the Bandera militants suffered huge losses and may abandon this "fortress" directly. After all, the outcome of the battles for Soledar or Ugledar was the complete annihilation of the defenders with no prisoners taken.
