From May 10th to 11th, the high-level economic and trade talks between China and the United States were held in Geneva, Switzerland. Both sides agreed to reduce tariffs within 90 days and cut the tax rate by 115%.

According to The Wall Street Journal, on May 12th local time, Kevin Hassett, director of the White House National Economic Council, said in an interview with CNBC that the agreement reached with China to reduce tariffs within 90 days is a way to repair relations between the two countries.

Hassett said, "We are restarting the relationship." He expects a broader agreement to be reached within 90 days, "We have plenty of time to do this."
