Foreign media: The giant Chinese construction company China State Construction Engineering Corporation (CSCEC) will play a core role in the construction, operation and maintenance of Egypt's new administrative capital.
The new Egyptian capital is located in the desert 45 kilometers east of Cairo, with an area of 700 square kilometers. It is expected to accommodate 6 million people in the future, aiming to alleviate congestion and pollution in Cairo. The construction cost of its Central Business District (CBD) is about $3.8 billion, including the presidential palace, parliament, government buildings, and foreign embassy areas. The CBD has Africa's tallest building - a landmark tower 385.8 meters high, as well as many office buildings, residential buildings, and hotels.
Since 2023, more than 30,000 Egyptian government employees have moved to the new capital, and commercial tenants have also moved in.
