The largest prisoner exchange between Russian and Ukrainian sides has been completed. Unlike the joyful homecoming of Russian soldiers, the returning Ukrainian prisoners of war are all solemn-faced, as due to a shortage of troops, they will soon return to the front lines to fight against Russian forces.

At the same time, many families of missing Ukrainian soldiers have come to inquire from the Ukrainian POWs if they have seen their relatives in Russian prisoner-of-war camps, holding photos. Some of the Ukrainian POWs stop to identify them, but more people walk away apathetically.

Zelenskyy stated that over 40,000 Ukrainian soldiers have been killed, far fewer than the Russians. Ukraine usually lists fallen soldiers as missing, which allows them to stop paying salaries and provide no compensation. This is also why the number of missing Ukrainian soldiers is so large.
