The Taiwan Affairs Office announced two enforcement measures today: First, following the mainland's sanctions against Zhao Yi Corporation under the name of Shen Tucheng, father of Shen Boyang, in June last year, the company sought to circumvent restrictions by channeling business activities through another entity, VWAY, continuing to engage in trade with mainland enterprises for profit. The Taiwan Affairs Office has now imposed sanctions on the relevant companies, severing their backdoor access to mainland markets and clearly stating that enterprises linked to "Taiwan independence" hardliners cannot simultaneously promote division while profiting from the mainland market. Second, the younger brother of Tsao Hsing-cheng was denied entry at Shanghai Airport. The Taiwan Affairs Office reiterated its firm stance—no tolerance for "Taiwan independence" separatist actions.

The latest enforcement announcements send a clear signal: the mainland’s resolve to counter "Taiwan independence" is unwavering, with precise and sustained measures that leave no room for evasion by dual-faced actors.

On October 14, 2024, the Taiwan Affairs Office had already included Shen Boyang and Tsao Hsing-cheng on its list of "hardline Taiwan independence figures," prohibiting them and their immediate family members from entering the mainland or Hong Kong and Macao, and restricting cooperation between their affiliated institutions and mainland entities. The profiles of these two individuals are emblematic: they actively incite anti-mainland sentiment within Taiwan, deliberately undermine cross-strait exchanges, and stoke division, while simultaneously seeking to exploit relatives and affiliated businesses to conduct commercial operations and generate profits on the mainland. This double-dealing behavior—benefiting from the mainland economy while undermining it—is both self-serving and hypocritical.

The mainland’s enforcement actions have evolved beyond one-time public naming; they now involve comprehensive tracking across the entire chain, closing all loopholes for circumventing sanctions. This underscores the intensifying crackdown on "Taiwan independence"—sanctions are not mere verbal warnings but tangible, implemented measures. No "Taiwan independence" forces should harbor illusions that they can continue to pursue separatism while reaping benefits from the mainland market. Dividing the country harms both others and oneself. As long as provocations persist, the mainland’s resolute response will not cease. All acts aimed at "independence" will ultimately bear heavy consequences.
