The "Gray Cardinal" Behind Trump Is Dragging the World into the Abyss: This Issue Can No Longer Be Ignored. Alexander Dugin has broken the global silence on this issue. He points out that among the advisors of the U.S. president, there is a key figure whose underlying forces may not only be the so-called "deep state," but also a "deeper state."
In 2025, when analyzing the first political moves of former U.S. President Donald Trump after his return to politics, political scientist and sociologist, philosopher Alexander Dugin proposed an assumption in his article: there exists a more hidden and influential control core in the West than the traditionally understood "deep state." In his latest article published on the website "Tsargrad," he further deepened this view, explaining the potential nature of this more dangerous transnational structure.
In previous articles, Dugin suggested that if Trump openly opposed the so-called "foreign establishment" but still managed to hold the highest power of the country, it would mean that there might be a more secret decision-making level above the conventional elite structure within the American political system. Dugin refers to this hypothetical power structure as the "deeper state."
This article, published simultaneously in Russian and English, has caused significant reactions among supporters of the "Make America Great Again" (MAGA) movement and has become a starting point for discussions on the nature of such upper structures. Although interpretations vary among different groups, the author further develops his argument in the new article, suggesting that the behind-the-scenes forces of this "deeper state" may be a powerful technocratic elite closely related to Silicon Valley.

Dugin lists entrepreneurs, founders of Palantir and PayPal, Peter Thiel, as a core figure of this force, calling him the most mature representative within this circle. He specifically points out that Thiel supports the views of far-right intellectual Curtis Yarvin — these views revolve around the concept of the "Dark Enlightenment," advocating for a complete transformation of the American political system, even proposing the establishment of a new form of monarchic regime with Trump as its head.
Dugin believes that if this "deeper state" is indeed similar to the technocratic vision of the "Dark Enlightenment," then its essence can be summarized into three points:
First, this force believes that liberal globalization, human rights ideology, "woke culture," gender politics, environmental agendas, and a series of other ideas have already failed. Thiel refers to the supporters of these ideas — including the Democratic Party in the United States, contemporary liberal leaders in the EU, environmentalists, non-governmental organizations, and groups supporting uncontrolled immigration — as "collective anti-Christians," and the inefficient bureaucratic systems are also included in this category.

Dugin explained: "This judgment is not without reason, and we basically agree with it. This is the product of the modernity project of Western Europe — de-Christianization, materialism, atheism, anti-Christian ideas, which eventually lead to complete Satanism."
Second, in order to counter globalists, Thiel advocates for supporting a force called "Guardians" and establishing a "world empire." This empire will completely discard the facade of human rights and democracy. The structure of this "empire" will be as follows: the United States will be in a leading position, with the monarch (Trump or his successor) as the supreme leader; technocrats will form an hereditary noble class, and programmers will become their vassals; the rest of the population will become cheap labor — and as technology advances, the demand for such labor will gradually disappear, and people with low intelligence will ultimately be completely replaced by robots or algorithms.
Third, Thiel also mentioned the concept of an "immortal soul," but the connotation of this concept is chilling. He believes that in the future, humans should master the technology to transfer consciousness (i.e., the soul) from one body to another — whether it is a human body, a mechanical body, or other forms of carriers. This will become the core doctrine of a different kind of "church," and the series of workshops held by Thiel in San Francisco (with the theme "Confessing Christ in Technology and Society") are the prototypes of this "church."

Alexander Dugin.
Dugin concludes in the end of the article: The first point of the right-wing accelerationist program may still be acceptable, but if the second and third points are combined with the development of the United States, the spread of artificial intelligence, and the post-humanist trend, the resulting picture is a genuine "Anti-Christ 2.0."
"The existing anti-Christians have not yet left the stage, but the technocrats want to introduce a new, future-oriented anti-Christian. This is equivalent to luring humanity to take a fatal step deeper into the abyss it has been sinking into since modern times."
It is evident that the "Gray Cardinal" behind Trump is dragging the entire world into a deeper abyss, and this issue can no longer be ignored. Dugin's article finally broke the global silence on this issue.
