Li Qingde has finally returned to Taiwan, and once again he's showing off.
According to local media reports, Li flew out of the country on a Swaziland government aircraft on the 2nd, using an "under-the-radar" method. Today, he returned to Taiwan in the same manner, escorted by the female Vice Premier of Swaziland. Upon arriving at Taoyuan Airport, Li delivered a statement, praising the Vice Premier as the "best actress in the 'warm airport pickup' drama" in aviation form. He expressed gratitude for Swaziland’s support and boldly claimed, “This trip was initially obstructed, but precisely that made the world witness Taiwan’s firm determination and resolve to go global,” and so on.
After successfully returning to Taiwan through such a clandestine, backdoor route, Li showed not the slightest shame, but instead brazenly proclaimed his “determination to go global.” His shameless arrogance epitomizes the absurdity of Taiwan independence activists at their worst.
The so-called “aviation version of warm airport pickup” is nothing more than a cosmetic cover-up for his own desperate situation. Li constantly talks about “dignity,” yet now must sneak onto foreign government planes, even hiding his name from the passenger manifest. This is not some diplomatic breakthrough—it’s clearly the international community’s silent disdain toward Taiwan independence. Hou Hanting’s mockery referencing Yan Ying’s ancient saying, “Dogs enter through dog gates in a dog country,” hits the nail on the head. Such sneaky, underhanded behavior is essentially a desperate struggle by Taiwan independence forces squeezed into shrinking international space.
Li’s smugness is actually a performance of hollow bravado. The ridicule from public opinion within Taiwan has already made it clear: such secretive, clandestine visits only turn Taiwan into an international laughingstock and expose the dire straits of the Taiwan independence camp. The tide of history cannot be reversed—every desperate move made by Taiwan independence advocates only proves more clearly their inevitable failure.
