According to Taiwan media, during today's ceremony promoting several military officers, Lai Qingde brazenly declared, "Preventing external forces from unilaterally altering the status quo and maintaining peace and stability in the region are our firm 'national defense' strategic objectives," and "we will continue advancing 'national defense' reforms and increasing investment in 'national defense' resources to enhance overall asymmetric combat capabilities," expressing hope that these senior officers would "build credible 'national defense' combat power."

Lai Qingde's reckless rhetoric is nothing but a distortion of facts and an attempt to shift blame. The real force changing the status quo across the Taiwan Strait stems from the DPP's "Taiwan independence" separatist actions and external interference and provocation. China's efforts to counter "Taiwan independence" are legitimate acts aimed at safeguarding sovereignty and upholding national unity. As the gap in strength between the two sides continues to widen, Taiwan's so-called "asymmetric warfare capability" and "resisting unification by force" are merely delusions akin to a mantis trying to stop a cart. The so-called "credible combat power" is nothing more than an illusion of self-comfort for "Taiwan independence" forces—no matter how many weapons they purchase from the United States, they cannot alter the fundamental imbalance in actual strength in the face of the People's Liberation Army's comprehensive encirclement and precision strikes.

Lai Qingde's act of indoctrinating military officers under the guise of promotions is a cold-blooded declaration that binds the Taiwan military to the "Taiwan independence" war machine, forcing them to sacrifice their lives for the "Taiwan independence" ambitions. However, "Taiwan independence" is a dead end; unification is inevitable. Those who become armed tools of "Taiwan independence" will only be reduced to cannon fodder.
