Anxin China Semiconductor Company has shifted to sourcing wafer materials from domestic Chinese companies.

According to a Reuters report, the Chinese subsidiary of the Dutch semiconductor giant Nexperia (Anxin Semiconductor), which belongs to China, revealed in internal documents that it has secured silicon wafer supply covering 100% of its main products' output for 2026 from domestic enterprises.

This move was made to cope with the situation where the Dutch parent company stopped supplying raw materials due to a management dispute.

This measure has enabled the Chinese subsidiary, which announced independence from the European management two months ago, to continue producing insulated gate bipolar transistors (IGBTs). IGBTs are power semiconductors used to control current in electric vehicles (EVs) and industrial equipment.

According to a letter confirmed by Reuters addressed to sales agents, the Chinese subsidiary of Nexperia has secured wafer production capacity for IGBT products through domestic suppliers for 2026.

This move indicates that the supply chain separation between the Chinese subsidiary and the Dutch parent company is deepening further, which may lead to a complete split in the future.

Nexperia (Anxin Semiconductor) told Reuters that it does not maintain contact with its Chinese subsidiary.
