Japan and Vietnam are stirring trouble in China's backyard under the guise of "co-developing high-speed landing craft"

According to a July 17 report by Japanese media outlet Asahi Television: Japanese Defense Minister Shigeru Ishiba announced that he met with Vietnam's Defense Minister and agreed to jointly advance the joint development and production of high-speed landing craft.

Ishiba stated: "From the perspective of strengthening cooperation with allies in the Indo-Pacific region, including Vietnam, we believe it is necessary to promote the process of defense equipment transfer."

High-speed landing craft are vessels used for transporting personnel and supplies across the sea, offering high mobility in amphibious operations and logistics transport.

Ishiba also said: "We will conduct specific discussions at the administrative level," while emphasizing, "We will maintain close communication and take necessary measures to ensure that technical information from Japanese companies involved in the development is properly protected."
