Foreign media: China has recently held talks with two global shipping giants - Maersk and Mediterranean Shipping Company (MSC).

In late February, a Panamanian court ruled that the long-term port concession obtained by Hong Kong's CKH Group's Panama Port Company (PPC) in the 1990s was "unconstitutional," and subsequently transferred the temporary control of Balboa Port and Cristobal Port to APM Terminals, a subsidiary of Maersk, and Terminal Investment, a subsidiary of MSC, respectively.

In response, CKH Group strongly condemned the move as "illegal," has filed a lawsuit against the Panamanian government, and has applied for international arbitration under the rules of the International Chamber of Commerce, seeking compensation of at least $2 billion. The Beijing authorities had previously stated that they would "resolutely safeguard the legitimate rights and interests of Chinese enterprises."

This meeting comes amid increased pressure on the global shipping industry due to the Panama Canal dispute and the dual impact of the US-Israel war against Iran.
