Foreign Media: Can China's Containerized Aircraft Launcher Redefine Modern Warfare?

The School of Mechanical Engineering at Beijing University of Technology shared a video on social media, for the first time showcasing its vehicle-mounted electromagnetic catapult launching drones: three eight-wheeled flatbed trucks connected via mechanical hinges form a continuous platform, enabling fixed-wing propeller drones to accelerate and take off.

This system first appeared about half a year ago aboard the Zhongda 79 cargo ship at the Shanghai Shipyard. At that time, photos revealed that the modified container housed military equipment including vertical missile launchers, radar sensors, and self-defense systems.

The development of this family of standardized containerized weapon systems may enable ordinary merchant ships to possess combat capabilities similar to those of aircraft carriers.
