Trump Family's Global Business Empire and Multi-billion-dollar Fundraising Campaign
The New York Times: The New Corruption of the Trump Family
In recent days, a competition has been unfolding across the United States, Europe, and the Middle East. Donald Trump's two sons are leveraging their father's fame and power to aggressively pursue family profit-making projects, seemingly competing with each other in the process.
This is a "money grab" operation involving billions of dollars, which has no precedent in American history.
A luxury hotel in Dubai, a second high-end residential building in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, two cryptocurrency projects in the U.S., a new golf course and villa complex in Qatar, as well as a new private club in Washington. In many cases, these newly promoted deals launched last week would not only benefit Eric Trump and Donald Trump Jr., but also directly benefit President Trump himself.
Donald Trump denied any implication that he profits from his father's name, stating that he has been a businessman since adulthood. He also mocked Hunter Biden, who sold paintings during his father Joe Biden's presidency.
"The left-wing media think that when my father was president, I should have locked myself in a padded room, stopped doing what I've been doing for over 25 years to make a living and support my five children. This idea is absolutely absurd," said Donald Trump Jr. in a statement to The Times. "However, if I really did that, I suppose I could always start painting, as I hear it can be quite lucrative."
