According to Japanese sports media Sponichi Annex, on May 12: In the men's team final of the London Table Tennis Championships held on the 10th, Zhang Zhijun suffered a major comeback and lost control of the match rhythm.
When facing Liang Jingkun, who was not in his best form, Zhang led in the first two sets. Although he lost the third and fourth sets, he still led 8-3 in the fifth set, with victory within reach. However, he conceded eight consecutive points and was ultimately overturned.
On this bitter defeat, he helplessly said: "This was a match I absolutely should have won."
