Pakistani-controlled Kashmir thousands of Koran schools suspended classes and holidays on the Indo-Pakistan border standoff.

After nearly ten days of bloodshed attack in Indian Kashmir, these two Asian nuclear-armed countries are still in a tense standoff. US Secretary of State urged both sides to ease tensions, but to no avail. The troops of India and Pakistan have been exchanging fire overnight along the Line of Control for the seventh consecutive day. Pakistan appears to be entering a state of preparation for war.

Last night and this morning, India and Pakistan again exchanged fire along the sovereign disputed Kashmir region, along the Line of Control. Although there is currently no report of casualties, this is the seventh consecutive night that the two sides have exchanged fire along the line of deployment.

The government religious affairs director of Muzaffarabad, the largest city in the Pakistani-controlled Kashmir region, announced on May 1st that in response to the escalating tension and possible outbreak of conflict in the area, 1,100 Koran schools in the region would suspend classes and take a ten-day holiday starting today.

In the Pakistani-controlled Kashmir region, there are more than 6,000 primary and secondary schools, of which over a thousand are located near the Line of Actual Control between India and Pakistan. According to an AFP report dated May 1st from Muzaffarabad, local schools have begun organizing students for emergency rescue and evacuation drills in recent days.

These two nuclear-armed Asian countries have already had several conflicts over the sovereignty dispute in Kashmir since their partition in 1947. This latest tension arose after an attack occurred in Indian Kashmir on April 22nd, causing the death of 26 tourists. Indian Prime Minister Modi, who holds an extreme nationalist stance, accused Pakistan, but Pakistan denied it outright and called for a neutral investigation into the attack.

No individual or group has yet claimed responsibility for the attack.

In the past ten days, both sides have taken frequent actions. Indian police conducted large-scale searches for suspects in Indian Kashmir. According to AFP sources, the Modi government has also given the green light to potential military strikes by the armed forces.

Pakistan believes that India's military actions are imminent and is preparing in advance.

Previously, both sides had taken a series of sanction measures, including expelling each other's citizens within their territories and suspending visa issuance. India announced on April 30th that it would close its airspace to Pakistan as a response to Pakistan's closure of its airspace on April 24th.

US Secretary of State Rubio recently spoke with leaders of both India and Pakistan separately, urging them to ease tensions. However, India's foreign minister emphasized that the perpetrators must be brought to justice. Pakistani Prime Minister Sharif insisted that there was no connection to the attack.

Previously, the United Nations, China, and others also urged India and Pakistan to exercise restraint.
