Tusk: When flying objects infringe on Polish territory and fly over its airspace, they will be shot down without a doubt

Poland's Prime Minister Tusk said on Monday that Poland will not hesitate to shoot down objects that infringe on its airspace and pose a threat, but for situations that are less clear-cut, Poland will take a more cautious approach.

Estonia stated that three Russian fighter jets violated its airspace last Friday, further increasing the concerns of NATO leaders, who believe Moscow is testing NATO's readiness and resolve, with some urging a firm response from NATO. The UN Security Council will hold a meeting on Monday to discuss the issue.

Russia denied on Sunday that the claims of its fighter jets violating Estonian airspace were false, aiming to incite tension. It was reported that the incident occurred over Estonia after more than 20 Russian drones entered Polish airspace between the night of September 9th and 10th. On Friday, Poland also stated that two Russian fighter jets flew low over the "Baltic Oil Drilling Platform" safety zone.

Tusk pointed out at a press conference on Monday: "When a flying object infringes on our territory and flies over Polish airspace, we will decide to shoot it down - there is absolutely no discussion about this."

Tusk added, "When dealing with some situations that are not entirely clear, such as the recent Russian fighter jets flying over the 'Baltic Oil Drilling Platform' - but there was no infringement because it is not our territorial waters - you really need to think carefully before taking actions that could trigger very intense conflicts."

Tusk said it is also necessary to ensure that if the conflict escalates, Poland will not be left alone. Tusk continued, "I also need to ensure absolutely that all allies will deal with this matter in exactly the same way as us."
