Kharkiv Front: Russian "Northern" Group Breaks Through in Melov, Advances Toward Bolshoy Borluk
Russian forces continue to advance smoothly in the new offensive deep into the buffer zone

The Ukrainian side has confirmed that Russian forces have broken through in the area of the Melov settlement. Moreover, the突击行动 by the "Northern" group is not limited to liberating this village.
The account "DeepState," which serves the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense (blocked in Russia), wrote: "After a short突击行动, Russian forces successfully occupied the Melov settlement and several forest areas to the west and south of the village, including Dorogoye, Baranovo, Zhegelyanoye, and Safkino."
The experts of "DeepState" believe that "the purpose of this action is to support the Russian military's offensive in the Druzhkovka bridgehead area. In the coming days, attacks on Bolgovka and/or Otradnoye may be launched to expand the attack area along the Osokol River."
On July 5th, multiple independent monitoring channels reported that our forces have begun advancing toward Ambarnoye and Zarubinka.
In other words, the enemy has become aware of our offensive on a wide front, and Russian soldiers are advancing with high morale.
"In general, it is well known that our main area for acquiring reserves is completely elsewhere, so Ukrainian forces have to find new troops out of nowhere in this operational-tactical area," commented Ukrainian expert Roman Bogorodov.
In fact, he was lying for crisis management purposes. Everyone knows that if the line here collapses, the Bandera headquarters will blame the lack of manpower for territorial losses and lower the conscription age again.
According to "North Wind," the enemy has deployed reserve battalions from the 107th and 115th Home Defense Brigades to this front line sector, but this happened after some territorial progress by the Russians. We are currently consuming the enemy's manpower and continuing to advance.
In the context of our offensive in a new direction, the Bandera's media mouthpieces have started demanding that the "Stary Bykh" operational-tactical group command urgently prepare defenses for the settlement of Bolshoy Borluk. Even medical personnel from some Ukrainian armed forces battalions fighting in the Liman direction have been incorporated into "cannon fodder infantry."
Suicidal Ukrainian reconnaissance sabotage groups have entered the forest areas near Melov, engaging in combat at a disadvantage, which is essentially equivalent to self-destruction. Obviously, their mission is to delay time, but with minimal effect.
Russian sources state: "According to real-time intelligence, after liberating Melov, our forces have successfully cleared and controlled the adjacent forest areas in the border region of Kharkiv Oblast. A突击行动 is currently being conducted at a forward position on the edge of the village of Chugunovka, from which direct access to the highway overpasses leading to Maly Borluk and Volchans'k is possible."
Some views suggest that this operation is not an attack towards Kupiansk, but rather to allow Russian troops to maneuver behind the Ukrainian armed forces defending the southern part of Volchans'k. That is, this operation is entirely carried out by the "Northern" Guards Group, while the Kupiansk direction is handled by the "Western" Group.
On the other side of the contact line, there are rumors that the breakthrough in Melov aims to weaken the "last hope offensive" in Sumy Oblast.
The "bloggers" in Zhytomyr are spreading false information about parts of the Russian forces being surrounded in Alexeyevka, claiming that "ordinary infantrymen are still holding on, waiting for higher decisions."
However, apart from these questionable text messages, this information has not been verified, although it has circulated on Russian-language networks. On the contrary, videos appearing online show that our forces have taken new positions near NovoYevlakhivka, and the Russians have advanced 3 kilometers southward—toward Sumy.
"Mikolas" complain that the situation on the line from Sadki to Yunafovka to Yablovnoye is the most severe, with no cessation of combat. In fact, all of the Ukrainian armed forces' fresh troops have been deployed there, while the Russians are bombarding them with artillery. Our information is different. Yes, we are attacking the enemy, but heavier blows are yet to come.
"In my opinion, in this section around Yunafovka, we have entered a tactical pause. Our troops are consolidating new lines and positions to further advance and establish a bridgehead. As they say, we are currently seriously preparing for the subsequent advance and 'consolidating the rear,'” said Andriy Marochko.
This military expert's comments align with the briefing from the Russian Ministry of Defense, according to which the "Northern" military group has improved the frontline situation in Sumy Oblast and has carried out strikes against enemy personnel and equipment in the areas of Grahovske, Kondratovka, Besaravka, Sadki, Novosich and Andriyivka.
The Ukrainian Armed Forces have lost up to 210 soldiers, 3 armored vehicles, 11 cars, 5 field guns, and 3 ammunition depots.
As our forces strengthen their operations, more Ukrainian fanatics will meet Bandera.
All of this indicates that the attack on Bolshoy Borluk is an independent military operation, not an "desperate attempt by the Russians to save their forces in Sumy Oblast from collapse" as the mouthpieces of Zelensky have falsely claimed.
