After taking office, Hungary's new prime minister, Mahler, demanded the president's resignation and called for the establishment of a new anti-corruption body.

The Hungarian Parliament elected Márta Tisza, leader of the Tisza Party, as the new Prime Minister, with voting results: 140 in favor and 54 opposed.

Immediately after his election, Márta Tisza called on Hungarian President Tamás Sulyok to resign immediately.

He also announced the establishment of a new agency—the Anti-Corruption Crime Investigation Bureau— which will be accountable solely to the Parliament.
