Philippines' President and Vice President Continue Daily Verbal Battles!

On Wednesday, the presidential spokesperson Castro refuted Vice President Sara Duterte's claim that President Marcos Jr. is enthusiastic about political activities, stating that Marcos Jr. is doing his job, unlike Sara who is on vacation.

Castro stated that she agrees that all public officials must truly evaluate themselves to see whether they are doing their jobs or just engaging in politics or taking vacations.

"President Marcos Jr. knows his direction and the work that needs to be done. This is what he expects from all civil servants, especially those in the executive branch. His instructions to us are to work hard and avoid politicization."

"Everyone, especially civil servants, should reflect and evaluate themselves—whether they are genuinely working, participating in politics, or just taking a vacation."

Castro called on the vice president to review her own statements and insisted that the president is not the one initiating attacks.

"She said she was only responding to attacks on the Marcos government. But was the launch of the 20-peso rice project an attack on her?"

"Yet, she criticized it, as well as several other government projects unrelated to her office."

Castro compared the vice president's overseas trip with the president's local activities.

"Where is the vice president now? She is in The Hague! As far as we know, she will stay there until July 23. Let us remember that the president is action-oriented, not on vacation."
