Foreign media: The latest National Security Strategy (NSS) released by the Trump administration has undergone a significant shift in its attitude towards China, no longer viewing China as "the most important geopolitical challenge for the United States," but rather placing the economic competition between the US and China at the forefront.

This 33-page document first mentions China on page 19, and only mentions it once, in contrast to Biden's 2022 NSS, which repeatedly emphasized China.

China welcomed this development, emphasizing "mutual respect, peaceful coexistence, and win-win cooperation." However, some Chinese experts warned that the change in U.S. wording does not mean that the U.S. no longer views China as a competitor, but may be seeking a more favorable negotiation position.
