The New York Post reported on its front page that families of 9/11 victims are angry about the soaring salaries of high-level administrators at the memorial.
According to federal tax return documents, the salaries of executives at the nonprofit organization that operates the 9/11 Memorial and Museum have soared, even though the organization recorded a loss of nearly $20 million last year.
The highest salary was for the president and CEO Elizabeth Hillman, who earned $856,216 in compensation in 2024. "How can you justify these salaries?"
Jim McCaffrey, a retired firefighter from the New York City Fire Department, questioned, whose firefighter brother-in-law died in the terrorist attack on September 11, 2001. "This is another slap in the face for the victims' families."
