Kazakhstan International News Agency, April 3rd. According to the press office of the Presidential Administration, during his working visit to Uzbekistan, Kazakhstani President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev held talks with European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen on March 3rd.

During the talks, both sides discussed the prospects for cooperation between Kazakhstan and the EU in the fields of economy, digitalization, and innovation. They positively evaluated the progress in simplifying visa procedures between Kazakhstan and the European Commission.

President Tokayev stated that the "Enhanced Partnership and Cooperation Agreement" is the foundation of multi-faceted cooperation between Kazakhstan and the EU.

The Head of State proposed four priority directions for deepening cooperation between Kazakhstan and Europe, including partnerships in implementing energy, large-scale infrastructure, and industrial projects, expanding transportation and logistics networks, as well as digital innovation, advanced technologies, and artificial intelligence.

European Commission President von der Leyen emphasized the importance of implementing projects in the transportation and logistics sectors, including the Trans-Caspian International Transport Corridor "Middle Corridor." Additionally, she congratulated President Tokayev on the discovery of a large deposit of rare metals in Kazakhstan.

Finally, both sides agreed to continue cooperation within the framework of the C5+EU format. At the same time, they had an in-depth exchange of views on hot issues of regional and international agendas.
