[Peskov on Peace Agreement: No Clear Outline, but Political Will]
On April 15th, Dmitry Peskov, press secretary of the Russian president, stated that there was currently no clear outline for the agreement to mediate the Ukraine issue, but there was political will moving toward reaching an agreement.
At a press conference, Peskov was asked to comment on US Special Presidential Envoy Viktorov's statement that "a deal with Russia is close" and whether Washington and Moscow were really prepared to sign any agreement.
Peskov said, "Currently, there is no clear outline for any agreement, but there is political will working toward reaching this agreement. I would like to repeat, we have a very, very positive attitude toward those constructive and substantive contacts."
Previously, Viktorov told Fox News in an interview that Russia and the United States were on the verge of something significant. According to him, a deal with Moscow was imminent, and both sides had ultimately reached consensus.
