Foreign media: On February 9, a South Korean AH-1S "Cobra" helicopter crashed during training in Goyang County, west of Seoul. The two crew members on board were declared dead after being taken to the hospital.

After the accident, the South Korean military suspended all flights of the same model of helicopter to investigate the cause of the accident. The helicopter was at the time conducting an emergency landing training, and the cause of the crash has not yet been determined.

The AH-1S "Cobra" is a single-engine anti-tank attack helicopter manufactured in the United States. This crash incident has raised concerns among the South Korean military about the safety of older military helicopters.
